CGDC and The Salvation Poem Partner to Develop Games that Promote the GospelĀ

ā€œMany established ministries are blessed with financial resources and have established audiences hungry for content… However, they need more experience and talent around games and cutting-edge interactive media. Conversely, Christian game developers have the skills, passion, and ideas… but they lack the funding and the audience. If we could connect these two dots, it would unlock untold blessings within the church and the world.ā€

Today, we get to celebrate a major milestone within the community. For the first time, the dots have connected. The Christian Game Developers Conference (CGDC) has teamed up with the ministry, The Salvation Poem, to co-develop minigames launching ahead of the theatrical release of ā€˜Light of the World’, a beautiful, 2D-animated story of Jesus told through the eyes of his beloved young friend, the Apostle John.
Ā
The Salvation Poem (TSP) is an independent, non-profit, creative studio crafting stories to share Jesus Christ with the world. The partnership between TSP and CGDC is a huge step forward for Christian creatives and ministries. It begins a deeper relationship between folks with creative, technical, and business-oriented talents, skills, and abilities, all with a mission to make Christ known.Ā

Ā
ā€œWe’re excited to partner with CGDC to develop games promoting the Gospel. We firmly believe that gaming is a powerful tool for ministry and community development, and are excited to work with the community to innovate on this frontier.ā€Ā

— Brennan McPherson, President of The Salvation PoemĀ

The collaboration will bring to life five branded minigames featuring fun, accessible mechanics, cozy coloring activities, and even friendly competition through leaderboards. These games will introduce the biblical themes and characters of ā€˜Light of the World’ in a fresh, interactive way. This is more than just a promotional campaign; it’s a beautiful testament to what can happen when ministries and Christian game developers come together with a shared heart. As a community, we are taking the next step in crafting a future where ministries that want to enter the world of games don’t have to do it alone.Ā Ā
Ā
The ā€˜Light of the World’ minigames will be released monthly, leading up to the film’s theatrical debut on September 5th.Ā

Be on the lookout for the first two minigames launching soon. Will you be #1 on the leaderboard?Ā
