Gloo Hackathon 2025 Recap
Early this month, the Gloo AI Hackathon gathered nearly 700 innovators from 27 countries for three days of building, praying, and dreaming. Among the tracks for the first time was gaming! (A big thanks to Bernie advocating for gaming's seat at the table.) Last summer, we put out the call to our community to represent gaming at the hackathon, and they showed up in a big, big way: team BareHand took the top prize for gaming with Cede, and team So Peculiar, teaming up with Brent Batas, won Best Design with Adventure Awaits.
In total, members of our community took home $35k in prize money and demonstrated the power of gaming to impact the world for good and for God. Next year, we hope to have even more of our community present, so start planning now. Until then, enjoy this year's entries.
Best Game: Cede
Cede reimagines faith-based gaming with a strategic action RPG where combat farming turns monsters into seeds of redemption. Designed for mainstream appeal, it blends dynamic gameplay and redemptive storytelling to reach gamers worldwide.
Best Design: Adventure Awaits
Adventure Awaits: Family Road Trip is a lighthearted yet meaningful game about using our limited time wisely, inspired by Ephesians 5:15-16. Players guide their family across the country, balancing fun, choices, and chaos while learning to live purposefully.
